A few words about the artist: It all started with an encounter with a material “the Earth”: rough or soft contact material. Malleable, moldable but also sensual material that must be tamed and mastered to assert its presence. Little by little from tactile sensations I arrived at optical sensations and I approached the world of ceramics. My work evolves between a classic representation and the purification of forms. For many years, I chose women to translate feelings oscillating between vulnerability, the fear of breaking a fragile balance, helplessness and strength. They are identical and yet so different, like women who look alike but live alone in parallel. Long, proud female figures with burned, flayed bodies that retain hope deep within them. Today my work is evolving: I combine the work of modeling with that of composition in order to accentuate and underline the themes of solitude or waiting, sharing and complicity. Themes that inhabit me and that I also address in my work on women.
